That was a wonderful illustration of how my life has been even after God rescued me a few years ago. And my spiritual growth has been stunted by my habit of still holding on to this world. A couple of months ago, I came to a realization that it had to stop as did my relationship with God had to change. So i began earnestly to pray more, not formal prayers, but open conversations with God. And as I did, God drew closer to me. And, I began to really grow in the Lord. So you were so right, it made God happy but it has made me even happier.

Lord, today let me take one step away from belonging to this world, and one step closer to You. Amen.
It's so frustrating how many times in a day 'I'm pulled into the world, but this prayer, Mason, reminds me to focus on a step at a time. And Pete, your statement of talking to God throughout the day is a good one. So my new little prayer all day long will be, "dear God, there I go again!" And then I can reset and take the next step forward closer to God.

I too, but not often enough, pray several times a day saying "Father, help me please, I sinned again" and it's always some form of pride that gets me there. Sherry in Washington
